Monday!

I am still recovering from the weekend.  The WSW on the stamping board was the best!  I cannot believe how much I learned.  Thank you!

Today was the first day of scrap camp.  My Big Picture Adventure Camp started with a big bang.  The campers are so excited about making a scrapbook about their family and friends.  They are so cute!  It was a great day.  I have to wonder where they get all of their energy. 

I spent most of my day at A Scrapbook Store.  How great is that?!  Tonight we ate at Atlanta Bread Company as they are donated 50% of their sales to the Charleston 9 (firefighters). so it was a good day. Yeah, Mondays!   I hope you had a great Monday too.

Tragic fire kills 9

I have always loved firetrucks and firefighters.  I am not sure why.  I see the trucks scream by and long to follow them.  I wonder where they are going and whisper a silent prayer that they are safe. 

When I was in kindergarten my picture was on the front page of the newpaper with the assistant chief of the city of Charleston.  I really cherish this picture.  It even hung in my dorm room in college. Much later in life, I would become best friends with this fireman's daughter.

Recently, I helped photograph her wedding.  It was so touching to have her firefighter brother and father there with their fire engine for a photo op.

Last night there was the worst fire in our lifetime.   This morning we mourn the loss of 9 who heroically charged into danger to save our citizens that were trapped inside.  It has been reported that the firefighters tore a hole in a wall to extract these store employees.   It is just so unbelievable the selflessness and bravery it takes to do this job every day.   I am so grateful for and proud of our firefighters.   This is a terrible loss for our community.

Five for 5 class tomorrow

Are you ready?  It is going to be some good fun.  Boldly designed patterned papers by Tinkering Ink.  Round and round (circle) punch by Fiskars.  Circle stamp by 7gypsies. Queen and Co. felt ribbon.  Glitter pen. Throw in a little doodling, a dash of distressing ink, some Heidi Swapp sea paint.  a couple of tricks and tips.  Lots of fellow scrapbookers.  Fun. 

Don't forget to bring your basic scrapbooking supplies.  Black pen, trimmer, scissors, adhesive.  You may also find these tools useful: sharp pencil and ruler or straight edge.

big news! (Mama stuff)

Big news. 

Well, a couple of stuff.  Three things.

#3.  Meemee jumped off the diving board!  woo hoo!  It was actually her idea.  Go, Girl!

#2.  She is 29 1/2 lbs.  Goodbye 20 pound range.  You have been good to us the last 2 1/2 years, but it time to leave.  So many low weight lectures from our doctor.  so many stressful mealtime struggles. and now 2 growth spurts in the last 2 months.  She is a big girl now.

drum roll, please.  The number one big news of the week/day!...

#1.  Meemee has gone in the potty almost 100% this week.  big HUGE news.  Yeah.  totally her idea.  just, oh, yeah, Mama.  I need to tell you something...  no biggie.  but I am going "finally!"  good job! 

A big week for little Meemee.  She is growing up.  No more babies at our house.    ***sniffle***

Studio Calico kit club.  Grand opening tomorrow. (well, you can sneak in at midnight tonight)  and no, I am not staying up.  They plan on ALWAYS including neutral colored cardstock.  The two ladies that are the owners are well respected members of the scrapping community.  Plus, there first three designers totally rock.  Frankly, kit clubs normally do not excite me.  But this one sounds like my kind of club.  Good luck, Scarlet and April.  I am anxiously awaiting the big reveal.

Berry funny.

Strawberries are in season.  LIttle A. is so allergic.  I cannot tell you the last time I had a strawberry.  Meemee has never seen or tasted one...

until today.
Meemee was swimming in the strawberry display today at the Pig.  Before I could extract her, she was covered in the berry juice. and sampled some of their fare. 

I had to hose her down before I let her in the house.  She wasn't amused. 

That Meemee is a mess.  I am certain that retailers all over town talk about us after we leave.

Tinkering Ink heaven

I have been playing with the Posh doo dads from Tinkering Ink.  and I am in heaven.  It is loud, and modern, and crazy.  I am not sure I would be drawn to it.  but it is serious fun.  and also, the Queen and Co. felt ribbon.  and a hot pink glitter pen.  and a Fiskar squeeze punch.  and don't faint...7 gypsies stamp.  oh, yeah.  all for our class on Friday, Five for Five.  I cannot wait to unleash all this on our ladies in the class.  (This is my favorite class to dream up fun stuff!)  I pick Five products.  I just usually pick my favorites.  (insert evil laughter)  and then we use them 5 different was to create FIVE different layouts.   This time there is one freestyle, one super preppy, one distressed, one deconstructed modern, and one clean graphic.  I.am.in.heaven.  (obviously, because I am such an angel.  no laughing.)

5 grateful things

1. Vacation Bible School VBS.  loved it when I was a child. love it now. 

2. Pooh. I love that my five year-old LOVES Pooh as much as ever.  so sweet.

3. Pool. I love the huge smile when my three year-old swims in the pool.  There is nothing better.

4. Scrapbooking. I love everything about it.

5. My sister.  She is the best.  seriously.  none better.
